In the heart of the beautiful countryside on Funen, you will find Nybro Frugtplantage, a family owned orchard and farm shop run by Tina and Thomas Nybro, with help from their daughters, Sarah and Mira, and of course the family’s four legged helper, Pumba the dog. Together, we care for our fruit trees, bees, and the beautiful nature that surrounds us.
Here, the whole family is involved in every part of the work, from the late summer harvest to the cosy Christmas season in our farm shop. We believe in genuine craftsmanship, Danish ingredients, and the exceptional taste of fresh fruit from Funen. This is family craftsmanship at its finest, where quality, personal service, and local traditions go hand in hand.
At Nybro Fruit Orchard, we grow 17 different apple varieties and 3 pear varieties, which you can buy directly from our farm shop. We harvest our fruit at peak ripeness to ensure the freshest flavour and the best texture.
Many people visit us every year to experience our locally grown apples and pears, ripened by sunshine, fresh air, and Danish craftsmanship. Here, you can enjoy our pick your own experience and take freshly picked fruit home with you.
In September 2006, we established our own cider mill on Funen, creating a small production facility for our cold pressed apple juice. Since then, we have expanded our production facilities, streamlined our processes, and built a dedicated team.
What began with just Thomas and Tina has grown into a thriving family business with three full time employees, supported by several young part time team members who help with production throughout the year.
All the apples used in our apple juice are grown and hand picked in our own orchard, and we use only Grade 1 apples. Our juice is cold pressed using traditional methods and gently pasteurised at approximately 80°C to ensure a longer shelf life.
We carefully select apple varieties that create a fresh, well balanced flavour rather than an overly sweet taste. The result is a crisp, full bodied, and refreshing apple juice, just like biting into a freshly picked apple straight from the tree.
At Nybro Frugtplantage, we combine traditional craftsmanship with local ingredients, allowing you to taste the difference in our fresh apple juice, non alcoholic apple mulled drink, strawberries, potatoes, and plums. Our products reflect the flavours of the season and the authentic taste of Funen, making them popular with local farm shops, cafés, restaurants, and food wholesalers throughout Denmark.
In September 2006, we opened our own mini cider mill. A small production facility was established to produce our own cold pressed apple juice.
A lot has changed since then, and with every passing year we have continued to learn and grow. We have expanded our production facilities, refined our workflows, and made a number of improvements to ensure the highest quality in everything we do.
At first, it was just the two of us, Thomas and Tina. Today, our family business has grown to include three full time employees, as well as a number of young part time team members who support us with production throughout the year.
All the apples used in our apple juice are grown and hand picked in our own orchard, and we use only Grade 1 apples. Our juice is cold pressed using traditional methods, with no additives, and gently pasteurised at approximately 80°C to ensure a longer shelf life.
Not every apple variety is suitable for making great apple juice. We carefully select varieties that create a fresh, well balanced flavour rather than an overly sweet taste. The result is a crisp, full bodied, and refreshing apple juice with a pleasant bite, just like biting into a freshly picked apple straight from the tree.
Over the years, we have expanded our range to include a wide selection of handcrafted delicacies, made with the same care and dedication as our apple juice. Our products are available in our farm shop as well as in specialist food shops across Denmark.
Whenever possible, we use ingredients from our own orchard. When that is not possible, we choose Danish ingredients. Supporting local producers and showcasing the finest flavours Denmark has to offer is at the heart of everything we do. After all, why use imported ingredients when we have such exceptional Danish produce right here at home?
We also make many delicacies, sold in our farm shop:
Everything is made with love for nature and respect for the ingredients. In addition to our apples and fresh apple juice, you will also find a selection of seasonal products, including our non alcoholic apple mulled drink, honey, and other Christmas specialities, all made with ingredients from Funen whenever possible.
Come and experience the true taste of Funen!
